Our aluminium etching technologies have been developed to produce the best possible finishes in terms of masking die lines and markings associated with extruding rolling. We are able to achieve the most matt appearance with the minimum of metal removal, thereby considerably reducing environmental impact and operational costs.

Within our etching technology we have developed a dual stage system producing a very matt surface with less than 25 g/m2 metal removal.

Etchants

Almetron provides Etch Additives for use in Caustic Soda based Etch baths or Pre-blended caustic etches ready to use.

Each of our additives is a unique blend, providing different characteristics in the etching solution helping to produce the desired surface finish.

Almetron has been developing its Etch's to suit specific customer requirements over the last four decades, providing the user with bespoke products, enabling them to improve productivity and reduce both energy and product consumption. Our formulations can produce high or low gloss matt finishes to your requirement.

Our technology is fully support by our high levels of technical support wherever you may be situated.

In line with ECHA's current concerns with PFABS, Almetron replaced or removed these ingredients from its products at the begining of 2022.

Brightening

Over the years we have developed and tested a broad range of Full Bright and Semi Bright solutions that offer an extensive range of achievable finishes. We can also provide the options of including both Fume Suppressants and Anti-Transfer Additives, depending upon the application and your requirements. AnoBrite is our Semi-Bright option and HiBrite provides a Full Bright finish.

Desmutting

Almetron acknowledges that the majority of etching processes result in residual metallic smuts remaining. We have various low impact technologies available to tackle this. Our professional, experienced laboratory team can also formulate bespoke blends to suit our clients' specific requirements including formulas to use up spent sulphuric acid and convert into desmut blends.

Anodising

  • Almetron provide Sulphuric Acid between 10-96%.

  • Anogex 35 - An additive for use in sulphuric acid anodising baths to produce anodised films with a greater hardness.

  • FS20 Fume Suppressant - Designed to control the release of fume and mist from the free surface of the working baths of these processes.

Colouring

Almetron offers all types of dye colour and can work with the client to find the required shade before manufacture.
